Battle Born Recruiting, located in Reno, NV, focuses on meeting hiring needs with a personalized, one-client-at-a-time approach. With deep local knowledge and strong Nevada values, we remain agile and adaptable throughout the process. We were founded out of necessity and a vision to challenge the unfair and broken traditional staffing models. Frankly, we grew tired of agencies that forgot the most basic aspect of the job: helping people. Early in our careers, we were told, “If you want to help people, this isn’t the right industry,” as the focus was on sales and profits over people. We’ve had enough. We genuinely care about the people we work with and strive to make the best possible matches without compromising quality or integrity.

How does your recruiting process work?

Our process begins with a deep understanding of your business strategy and culture. Clients need to be open to sitting down with us and getting raw and real. Maintaining clear/constant communication is a must. If you have excellent candidates to choose from, the process shouldn’t take weeks. From there, a senior recruiter conducts a personalized search, personally connecting with candidates to ensure they’re the perfect fit for your team. You will receive our top 2-3 candidates, that have been thoroughly vetted. To work with us, whether as a client or candidate, we need to tackle the basics: what’s working, what’s not, and whether internal issues are causing unnecessary turnover. We can work through these things, as long as we know what we are dealing with. Transparency and honesty are key, and we’re committed to the same. We only partner with those dedicated to hiring talent the right way because true partners and allies are essential for success. And yes, we have a strict “no jerks” policy.

What makes you different from other agencies?

We focus on building strategic partnerships rather than relying on traditional agency models, emphasizing employer branding and candidate experience to protect your brand and ensure quality hires. Our fees are fair, transparent, and tailored to fit your budget. Traditional agencies often scramble to take on more clients and roles than they can handle, driven by unrealistic metrics set by profit-driven executives. These models prioritize profits for leadership while burning out the recruiters doing the hard work. The average tenure of a new recruiter is about two years. Clients often end up working with fresh recruiters straight out of college, selected based on extracurriculars and a “competitive spirit” bias. Many new recruiters come from high-pressure sales environments like car rental companies or mobile phone carriers, with the mistaken belief that this background makes for a great recruiter. Our fee structure is straightforward and tailored to meet your hiring needs, offering great value while prioritizing quality candidates. We see people as both clients and candidates—not just commodities to profit from with high fees. No fee will ever exceed $12,000 or 10% of the candidate’s first year’s base salary. Unlike firms with one-size-fits-all models and 20-30% fees, we focus on fairness and individuality. Pricing is personalized for each client, considering factors like organization size, revenue, role specifics, and what feels fair for everyone. It’s simple, and we’re not here to get rich. We believe in a “give to get” approach, taking friends, family, and referrals into account.
